The short answer
Start with your interests, your time and a realistic travel pace. A shorter list of places often leaves more room to enjoy them.
Choose your anchor
Write down the experience you most want: a city, mountain scenery, gardens, food or family time. Use that as the anchor for your route.
Count travel time as part of the trip
A transfer includes more than the time on a train or plane. Add the journey to and from the station or airport, check-in or boarding time and the move to your next hotel.
Leave room for ordinary life
Keep some unplanned time for meals, walking and rest. For a first draft, try one main activity and one optional activity per day, then adjust to your group.
Before you book
Verify entry requirements for your nationality and travel plans, then confirm transport and accommodation details with the relevant providers. This planning guide does not determine visa eligibility.
